Claude Aubry (1914-1984) was the first Canadian author published in the People's Republic of China, and for which the prestigious IBBY Canada (International Union for Youth Book) is now named. Alongside his career as an author, Claude Aubry was director of the Ottawa Public Library from 1953 to 1979.

Pierre Pratt has illustrated over 50 books. He has won numerous awards, including the Governor General's Literary Award three times. Recently, he was awarded the prestigious Elizabeth Mrazik-Cleaver Award by IBBY Canada.
