Hilary Grist wrote the story, created the clay characters and performs her original songs. Her music is both soothing and restful, music that the whole family can tap into and enjoy.

"Her smooth rhythmic text and stunning artwork cast in a soft light between sleep and waking, make a perfect summertime treat, wafting listeners into a reposeful musical world reminiscent of Norah Jones and Feist."

Ira and Isabelle, a brother and sister, live in a tiny red house beside the sea. One night they decide to get on a boat and sail to a faraway land where they want to escape the sounds of the busy city. They encounter a gentle, soft-spoken robin, that convinces them that dreams truly can become a reality. The CD impacts minds and hearts with nine heartwarming dream songs culminating in a beautiful rendition of Johanne Brahm's classic "Cradle Song."

The CD playlist is:

*Tomorrow is a Chance to Start Over (Narration)

The only word I can think of to appropriately describe this Book/ CD is beautiful. I highly recommend it and know it would be a perfect gift to give to a newborn baby or add to your own family collection.

The book tells a sweet story in rhyming verse form about two young children who have difficulty sleeping in the noisy world of the city. The children decide to take their boat and sail away to a quieter place. Floating across the sea, lit by a "moon-kissed sky", they eventually arrive at a special land filled with twisty trails, bubbling rivers, and colorful trees. It's a dreamlike place where wishes are made and the children take flight.

The music cd which accompanies the story book is remarkable. It begins with Ms. Grist's narration guided by her wonderful song, "Tomorrow is a Chance to Start Over." Eight additional songs fill the air with gently floating melodies.

This peaceful bedtime treasure will carry any child and even adults towards a contented and satisfying sleep.

I received this book set in exchange for a review.

What an inspiration for the imagination! This book by Hilary Grist is a soothing night time story for all. The story is about 2 children trying to fall asleep but find they cannot due to the commotion outside their window. When the sister suggests that they find somewhere quiet they are suddenly depicted in a small sailboat, sailing away towards an adventure. The artwork in this book was created through sculpture. The images are intriguing in that the artist used 3 dimensional materials as opposed to 2-dimensional so there is more depth to the images. Each sculpture/page of this book is unique in its own way and their are several mediums used throughout. The story itself is written in a very rhythmic pattern almost like a poem or song. Its a great book to put your children to bed with.

The text is insipid, but the photography and the diorama-style illustrations are impressive.
