The Flamboyant Tree brings Summer Sounds for Fall!
Songs in the Shade of the Flamboyant Tree: French Creole Lullabies and Nursery Rhymes
Meet Aliyèt! She's a little girl who loves to dress up in mom's clothes. We are featuring this upbeat tune from Songs in the Shade of the Flamboyant Tree: French Creole Lullabies and Nursery Rhymes, which brings a staccato piano in classic forte style that expresses the whimsical experience of Aliyèt's playtime dressing in her mom's heels, hat, skirt, and shoes! This award-winning storybook-CD offers 30 French Creole lullabies and nursery rhymes originating from islands such as Haiti, Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Reunion.
Compiled by Chantal Grosléziat, and arranged by Paul Mindy, the songs are performed by children, women, and men. The illustrations were created by Laurent Corvaisier. Lyrics have been translated to English with descriptions of its origin.
